Northern Insuring Agency (NIA), located in Plattsburgh, recently donated $840 to Hospice of the North Country (HONC). This generous gift was the result of a drawing at this year’s North Country Chamber of Commerce Expo. Northern Insuring invited Expo attendees to nominate non-profit organizations to receive a donation; Julie Jolicoeur, Operations Director at Victory Place in Plattsburgh, entered Hospice of the North Country in the drawing. “I had wonderful experiences with the Hospice of the North Country nursing staff as well as the families under their care,” said Jolicoeur. “I developed a soft spot for this organization and the people they serve, and I feel they are worthy of this gift.” The donation will support Hospice of the North Country’s Mission of helping people of the North Country die in spiritual, mental, and physical comfort. “We are so appreciative of Northern Insuring Agency’s generosity and applaud their commitment to support non-profit organizations,” said Kent W. Brooks, CHPCA, HONC CEO. “I’d like to thank Ms. Jolicoeur for nominating us; we are very proud that our staff had such a positive impact on her.”
In 2010, Northern Insuring Agency celebrated its 80th anniversary and to commemorate this milestone they committed to making annual donations to local non-profit agencies. Northern Insuring Agency, Inc. is the largest locally-owned, independent insurance agency covering the Northern New York Region.
