Plattsburgh Radio Aeromodelers Give Back

This year’s event, attended by aeromodeler enthusiasts and spectators, raised $1,000  for HONC. Participants gathered at the Memorial Air Field on the Rooney Road in  Beekmantown for the opportunity to fly or drive their radio controlled planes,    helicopters, drones, and cars. Spectators were also invited to join the fun and soar as  first time pilots on “buddy box trainers”. “We were proud to host the 14th Annual Fun  Fly & Drive fundraising event to benefit Hospice,” said James Drollette, VP, PRAM.  “We like to give back to our community.” The monies were raised through fly and drive  time fees, concessions, and a 50/50 raffle. Approximately 250 people attended the  charity event in June. “We are so grateful to PRAM and everyone who contributed to    the Fun Fly & Drive event,” said Kent W. Brooks, CHPCA, HONC CEO. “We are    honored to care for our patients with life-limiting illness, and we are able to continue as  a direct result of a caring and generous community.” Plattsburgh Radio Aeromodelers,  a non-profit club, was established with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) in  1974.  PRAM has held its club events in Beekmantown since 1991. PRAM is a  member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
