The 11th annual 5k run/walk will be held on Saturday, October 3 at 10:00 a.m. with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. Registration forms are available at hospicenc.org/events or at the Hospice of the North Country office, 3909 St. Rt. 11.
Participants may walk or run the 3 mile course that begins at the Malone Adult Center (formerly In Motion Physical Therapy), located at 14906 State Route 30 in Malone. The first 100 people to register for the event will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt. The registration fee is $20 (checks payable to Hospice of the North Country). In celebration of National Physical Therapy Month, local Therapists organize the 5k as a way of giving back to the community by supporting Hospice of the North Country, an organization that touches many lives. In the same spirit, they are dedicating this year’s event in memory of Dr. Marco Berard and Bess Hanna.
All proceeds from this event will be used to benefit patients and families served by Hospice of the North Country (HONC). “We appreciate the time and energy that Kathy and the Therapists have dedicated to organizing such a wonderful fundraising event on our behalf,” said Cathlyn Lamitie, HONC Director of Development/Communications. “We are grateful to the businesses and organizations who sponsor this event and the families and friends who join us each year in support of our Mission.” There will be refreshments, a 50/50 and gift raffle following the 5K.
As a non-profit organization, Hospice of the North Country depends on contributions from individuals, families, corporations, and the community. Participation in this event will make a real difference in the lives of the patients and families served by Hospice. Hospice care provides comfort to patients with symptom and pain management along with respite for family and friends.
