Emotional Support for Caregivers

Caring for a loved one can be emotionally taxing. Remember, it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. Here are ways to support your mental health as a caregiver:

  • Talk to someone who understands – join a caregiver support group.

  • Practice mindfulness or deep breathing to ease stress.

  • Focus on one positive thing each day, no matter how small.

  • Journal to help reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and promote emotional well-being by providing a space for self-expression and reflection.

  • Take small breaks when needed--utilize healthy distractions such as adult coloring, puzzles, crafts, reading, or listening to music.
