Melodies & Memories Benefit Concert
Hospice of the North Country is proud to present an unforgettable evening of rock 'n' roll nostalgia at its upcoming Melodies & Memories fundraiser, featuring the beloved North Country band, Frankie & The Moonlighters. The concert promises a night of timeless hits and community spirit, with all proceeds supporting hospice care in local communities.
Get ready to twist and shout to the songs that shaped a generation, from Elvis Presley to The Beatles, and everything in between. Attendees will enjoy an authentic musical journey through the 1950s and '60s, while helping to fund vital services for patients and families in the North Country region.
The idea for the concert was inspired by a deep sense of community and the desire to safeguard access to hospice care in the North Country. Hospice supporters Tom and Sue La Rocque of Malone approached Hospice of the North Country with the generous offer to host the benefit event. “I believe in the power of compassion and care that hospice provides,” said Tom LaRocque. “It’s essential that we support their work, ensuring that every person receives the dignity and comfort they deserve at end-of-life.”
"This incredible opportunity is thanks to the kindness and community-mindedness of Tom and Sue," said Cathlyn Lamitie, Hospice of the North Country's Development Director.
Frankie & The Moonlighters are renowned for their electrifying performances, showcasing the biggest hits of the '50s and early '60s. More than just a band, they bring an immersive experience with period-accurate stage sets, costumes, and an energetic atmosphere that invites audience participation. From singing along to dancing in the aisles, concert-goers can expect a high-energy show that’s perfect for the whole family.
The band, based in Bloomingdale, NY, is led by the smooth vocals of Frankie Wayne, with Mike “Mad-Dog” Harrigan on guitar, Sue “Suzie-Q” Grimm on keyboards, Barb “Boom-Boom” Curtis on upright bass, and Kevin “KMAN” McLaughlin on drums. The harmonizing “Moonbeams”—Melissa Nugent, and Donna Fortune, —round out the lineup with their backing and lead vocals. "This show is especially meaningful to me," said lead singer Frank Whitlaw. "Hospice of the North Country provided incredible care for my mom in her final days, and this concert is a way for us to give back."
Frankie & The Moonlighters regularly perform at summer concert series, car shows, and community events, and their fans won’t want to miss this special performance in support of a great cause.
