Ride to Remember Virtual Bike Challenge
Honor the memory of a loved one while riding to support Hospice of the North Country!
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Ride to Remember is
a virtual bike ride in which participants can participate anywhere. Individuals
are encouraged to get out and ride their bikes for up to two hours in an area
where they can practice social distancing. Center for Disease Control (CDC)
guidelines continue to recommend a minimum of six feet of social distancing in
an effort to stem the pandemic. It is important to note that Ride to Remember
is not a group ride. We encourage people to ride around anywhere of your
choosing—around your neighborhood, on the shores of Lake Champlain or through
the beautiful Adirondacks.
It’s an opportunity for participants to get out and ride
their bikes for up to 50 Miles during the month of September to support our
Mission of helping people of the North Country die in spiritual, mental, and
physical comfort. Participants can register and track their progress at
https://www.adirondackcoastevents.com/
You choose the route and create the challenge to ride 50
miles in September. You can choose to:
Ride Your Favorite Bike Path
Ride Your Neighborhood
Ride at Home
Ride the Mountains
Registration is now open for the 50-Mile Hospice of the North Country Ride to Remember Bike Ride Challenge. Register your ride for $20
and complete it anytime in the month of September at your own pace. Each rider will receive an event t-shirt. You can do all 50 miles at once, or do only a
few miles at a time—it’s up to you! All you need is a bike and a route. You can encourage your friends and family to sponsor you via hospicenc.org or https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Plattsburgh/RidetoRememberPlattsburgh.
“Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have been forced to cancel our normal
face-to-face fundraising events and as a result we are seeing a severe decrease
in fundraising dollars,” said Cathlyn Lamitie, Hospice of the North Country
Director of Development. “We are hoping Ride to Remember will be a family fun
event that will contribute to an increase in development funds.”
As a non-profit organization, Hospice of the North Country depends on contributions
from individuals, families, corporations, and the community. Participation in this event will make a real difference
in the lives of the patients and families served by Hospice. Hospice care provides comfort to patients with symptom and pain management along with
respite for family and friends.
