Spooky Strides 5K
The 18th annual 5k run/walk will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. Registration is available at hospicenc.org/events.
Participants are encouraged to wear their best Halloween costume to walk or run the 3 mile course that begins at Alice Hyde Medical Center Rehabilitation located at 187 Park Street, Malone. Participants also have the option to walk or run a 1.5-mile course. Prizes will be given for the best costumes. The registration fee is $20. Registration is available at hospicenc.org/events. The first 50 people to register for the event will receive a tote bag. The AHMC Rehabilitation staff organize the 5k to give back to the community and to support Hospice of the North Country, an organization that touches many living in the North Country.
All proceeds from this event will be used to benefit those served by Hospice of the North Country. “We are grateful to the rehabilitation staff who have put so much effort into organizing this fun family event”, said Cathlyn Lamitie, Hospice of the North Country Director of Development/Communications. “This event would not be possible without the generosity of area businesses or our community who comes out year after year.” There will be refreshments and gift basket raffle following the 5K.
As a non-profit organization, Hospice of the North Country depends on contributions from individuals, families, corporations, and the community. Participation in this event will make a real difference in the lives of the patients and families served by Hospice. Hospice provides comfort to end-of-life patients with symptom and pain management along with respite for family and friends.
